What the Cert Means

To obtain the NSAI cert means that both manufacturing processes and materials are checked to ensure that the highest quality procedures and materials are used at all times in the manufacturing process of the solar systems. It is a rigorous certification process and can take up to a year to complete the process, after which time obtaining the certificate is not guaranteed. The certification looks at all the materials that are used to manufacture the collectors covering plastics, metals, rubbers and glass that are used in every panel and tube collector. The certificate also ensures that the sales, installation and commissioning process is properly documented for the installer to use. To obtain the certificate the cert holder "Joule" must also have a training center for training installers to ensure that not only is the quality of the product and service excellent but also that the quality of the work carried out by the installer is also excellent.

Joule Solar Systems

The Joule panel is manufactured from toughened glass, with an anodised alluminium frame. The seals are made from weather and temperature resisted EPDM. Each product used in a Joule solar system is manufactured under a quality management system.

Fire Testing

One of the most significant differences between certified solar systems and ones that are not is that an in-roof solar panel system must be fire tested to ensure that it has a one hour fire rating to protect you and your family from fire penetration from neighbouring houses.
